Jennifer Lopez is bringing her star power to Savannah! The 2025 SCAD Savannah Film Festival has announced that J.Lo will be honored with the Virtuoso Award for her standout performance in Kiss of the Spider Woman and her trailblazing career across music, film, TV, and business.
The award ceremony will follow a live recording of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast, hosted by THR Executive Editor of Awards Scott Feinberg, on Saturday, Nov. 1, giving festival-goers a front-row seat to one of Hollywood’s biggest names in action.
“It’s an extraordinary honor to welcome Jennifer Lopez to Savannah,” said Christina Routhier, Senior Executive Director of the SCAD Savannah Film Festival. “Her versatility, resilience, and creative vision make her a role model for our students and the entire festival community. Celebrating her on our stage is a landmark moment for SCAD.”
J.Lo isn’t just an icon on screen—she’s a powerhouse in every corner of entertainment. She’s a Time 100 honoree, Forbes’ Most Powerful Celebrity, and the only woman to hit No. 1 on the album and box office charts in the same week. With over 35 films, 80 million records sold, 15 billion global streams, and her recent hit Unstoppable dominating Prime Video, Lopez continues to redefine stardom in the streaming era.
Beyond music and movies, Lopez is a business mogul and philanthropist, launching Nuyorican Productions, a first-look deal with Netflix, and Limitless Labs to support Latina entrepreneurs. She also champions causes like the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and global girls’ and women’s initiatives through the United Nations Foundation.
Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by Bill Condon, is a visually stunning musical adaptation starring Lopez alongside Diego Luna and Tonatiuh. The story follows two cellmates—political prisoner Valentín (Luna) and window dresser Molina (Tonatiuh)—whose unlikely bond develops as Molina recounts a Hollywood musical starring his favorite diva, Ingrid Luna (Lopez). The film hits theaters Friday, Oct. 10, via Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
The SCAD Savannah Film Festival—the largest university-run film festival in the world—runs Oct. 25–Nov. 1, 2025. Festival passes are available now, with individual tickets on sale Friday, Oct. 3.
