HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ Season 2 to Premiere April 13

LOS ANGELES — HBO will launch the highly anticipated second season of its Emmy®-winning drama series The Last of Us on Sunday, April 13 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Fans can also stream the seven-episode season on Max.

Five years after the intense events of the first season, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) will face a world more dangerous and unpredictable than before. As they navigate this brutal environment, their bond will be tested in new, life-changing ways.

The second season brings back beloved cast members, including Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley as Maria. New cast members include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, and Young Mazino as Jesse. Ariela Barer will play Mel, Tati Gabrielle will portray Nora, Spencer Lord takes on the role of Owen, Danny Ramirez plays Manny, and Jeffrey Wright will appear as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara will guest star, bringing her comedic talents to the series.

The Last of Us builds on the highly praised video game franchise developed by Naughty Dog for PlayStation® consoles. Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, who serve as writers and executive producers, return to craft the next chapter of Joel and Ellie’s journey. The series also counts Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells as executive producers. Halley Gross returns as a writer and co-executive producer.

The second season will dive deeper into the emotional and physical challenges Joel and Ellie face as they confront an even more volatile world. The story will explore the growing threats from both the infected and hostile human groups. With its stellar cast and gripping narrative, The Last of Us will continue to engage audiences with its character-driven storytelling and intense post-apocalyptic world.
