ATLANTA – Georgia’s thriving film industry will receive an extended spotlight in 2025 as Georgia Film Day expands into Georgia Film Week, a week-long celebration recognizing the state’s booming entertainment sector. From Monday, March 17, to Friday, March 21, industry leaders, creatives, and policymakers will gather to honor the achievements and future of Georgia’s film industry.
The expanded celebration coincides with the 30th anniversary of the Georgia Production Partnership (GPP), the organization that has championed the state’s Entertainment Tax Credit and helped position Georgia as one of the world’s top production destinations. Over three decades, GPP has played a pivotal role in shaping policies that have fueled the state’s film and television boom, bringing in major productions and bolstering local job opportunities.
“Georgia Film Week 2025 is an opportunity to reflect on our progress while looking ahead to the future of our industry,” said a GPP representative. “The expansion from a single day to a full week highlights the depth of our impact and the importance of continued advocacy.”
Each day of Georgia Film Week will focus on a key theme, showcasing different aspects of the industry’s success:
- Monday, March 17 – GPP Legacy Day: Reflecting on 30 years of GPP’s contributions and its ongoing advocacy for Georgia’s film industry.
- Tuesday, March 18 – Diversity in Film Day: Highlighting the importance of representation and inclusion in storytelling and industry leadership.
- Wednesday, March 19 – Union/Workforce Appreciation Day: Honoring the skilled professionals and unions that power Georgia’s film economy.
- Thursday, March 20 – Legislative Day: Bringing policymakers and industry leaders together to discuss the future of Georgia’s entertainment landscape and the ongoing success of the tax incentive program.
- Friday, March 21 – GPP 30 Years Celebration Gala: A grand finale event celebrating three decades of achievements with industry leaders, partners, and supporters.
