‘Captain America: Brave New World’ Soars Into Theaters, Continuing Marvel’s Georgia Legacy

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Marvel Studios’ latest blockbuster, Captain America: Brave New World, lands in theaters on Feb. 14, continuing the franchise’s longstanding relationship with Georgia’s film industry.

Filmed at Trilith Studios in Fayetteville—just outside Atlanta—the highly anticipated installment sees Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson, now wielding the shield as Captain America. The film follows Wilson as he navigates an international crisis after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, played by Harrison Ford. As global tensions rise, Wilson must unravel a dangerous conspiracy before the mastermind behind it plunges the world into chaos.

Directed by Julius Onah, Brave New World features an ensemble cast, including Danny Ramirez, Shira Haas, Carl Lumbly, Xosha Roquemore, Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Tim Blake Nelson. The film is produced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, with a screenplay by Rob Edwards, Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, Julius Onah, and Peter Glanz.

The film continues Marvel’s deep ties to Georgia, where the studio has produced many of its biggest hits. Since 2015, Trilith Studios—formerly Pinewood Atlanta Studios—has been home to major Marvel productions, including Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Georgia’s competitive tax incentives and state-of-the-art production facilities have made it a key hub for Hollywood blockbusters, with Marvel leading the charge.

With Captain America: Brave New World, Marvel Studios once again combines high-stakes storytelling with real-world locations, bringing audiences another thrilling chapter in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe.
