Apple TV+ Snoopy Presents Welcome Home, Franklin Atlanta Screening

ONE/35 Agency and Apple TV+ collaborated to host a special screening of “Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin” at AMC Madison Yards on February 24. This exclusive event brought together families to rediscover the iconic Peanuts Gang and explore the heartwarming origin story of Franklin Armstrong, the first Black character introduced into the Peanuts Gang over 50 years ago.

Fans of the Peanuts comic strip were first introduced to Franklin’s character nearly 56 years ago. However, until now, little was known about his family, origin, or backstory. Franklin joined the cast after retired teacher Harriet Glickman wrote a letter to “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz, urging him to integrate his work following the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1968.

The series premiered earlier in the week on Apple TV+ and was executive produced by Craig Schulz, co-written by Franklin’s namesake, cartoonist Robb Armstrong, and directed by Emmy Award-winner Raymond S. Persi.

“Snoopy Presents: Welcome Home, Franklin” explores several themes, including the challenges and rewards of making new friends, the importance of family and community, finding confidence in one’s unique qualities, and the power of perseverance and teamwork.

The event provided an opportunity for attendees to laugh, cry, celebrate, and discover the heartwarming origin story of Franklin Armstrong, one of the most iconic characters in comic strip history.
